Chasing the Autumn Leaf Colors ...

Lithia Park in Ashland - the dam (up high). Cold and almost deserted, except for a photographer, his girlfriend, and me.
I felt I could get some wonderful reflections, and indeed I did. I love the colors this year. Usually the sun is not out, and usually rain has caused the trees to lose their leaves. I took 175 photos yesterday. This is but one of them.

Peaceful Pastures ...

Just 3 miles down the road from where I live. It was below freezing, so the pasture grass is tipped with frost. Love the colors - subdued but work so well together.

Mt McLoughlin.

The banks of the Rogue ...

1/2/11. The banks of the Rogue River via Gold Hill. A hillside full of color - brilliant greens and golds of the moss-covered rocks and tree limbs. It was the abundance and combination of colors that caught my eye,and the deep color of the twisted tree.

So many textures - each different - the blue-gray lichen on the tree also.

A bit of a chill in the air ...

Was just below freezing when we ventured out for the day. Frost clung to the roadside foliage.
Just at the end our street was this 'tunnel' into the little backroad track in the Tou Velle area.
Made a wonderful photo, and some day a painting, I hope.

Happy 2011, everyone.
